  1. did he hit it slightly at the toe of the club face?

  2. I just think Ernies has such a beautiful swing, that I could watch it for hours.

  3. Harrington has won three majors you fucking batty boy.

  4. @hockeysupasta4 You calling Tiger a liar? Would Tiger ever lie?

  5. @icthruu4evr thats ovbiously not true.

  6. @hockeysupasta4 Tiger told me he always lifts his right heel in his back swing.

  7. @icthruu4evr well go look at tiger, phil, whoever you want, feet stay quiet in the backswing.

  8. @hockeysupasta4 Well thats why those guys arent winning big tournaments….not lifting their heel in the back swing.

  9. @icthruu4evr just take a look at the other tour players swings in the related videos section. padraig, furyk, goosen. its clearly in the downswing

  10. @hockeysupasta4 No its on the back swing.

  11. @icthruu4evr okay yes but its in the downswing not the back swing

  12. @hockeysupasta4 I meant the right heel. Have to lift it at least 2″ in your back swing.

  13. @icthruu4evr modern golfers keep their lower body quiet and swing mostly with shoulders. older golfers like nicklaus watson and bobby jones had big hip action and lifted their left foot off the ground, which is an unnecessary move in the golf swing, so no you dont need to lift your left heel on the back swing.

  14. Sorry I think he’s hit this just fine if you look at his alignment,Its just where the ball is supposed to go!

  15. @emncaity Everyone knows youre supposed to lift your left heel up at least 2″ on your back swing.

When he misses one like this, you’ll see him get just a shade ahead of it, and just a little more shoulder-dominant, than he is on his good swings; the angle opens a touch (which means the hands are working ahead of the arms slightly) as the downswing starts, then they have to hold on while the arms are swinging down, which appears to me to give him an extra bit of tension that wasn’t there in his swing when he was in his 20s and early 30s (before the knee problem).

Yeah, I think you’re right–this is what happens with that slight casting move sometimes (actually you can miss it right OR left). Clearly he’s not happy–flamed it a bit right. Still, as you say (I think), you can see here (and in other slo-mo vids of him, Tiger, and other people who are killing it) just how there’s no “hold-off” move at all–the face rotates aggressively, a natural consequence of rotating the forearms and releasing the hands the way they’re made to.

  18. Actually a very good vid to see that habit he developed since the injury–opening the angle between arms and shaft a little right at the outset of the downswing, jut a little cast move (seen better in face-on, but you can tell here too). Kind of a smaller version of what Jay Sigel used to do. It really screws up his timing. Once in a while you’ll see him at an event where he’s making a lot of swings _without_ doing that, and invariably he hits it really well when that happens.

  19. @DaYama25
How is that coming out of the shot?

  20. @icthruu4evr
    What?

  21. He forgot to lift up his left heel.

  22. it was a slice and ernie never pushes the ball also you can tell he has perfect rotation of the club and release

  23. shankage

  24. pushed

  25. awful
