  1. hahaha the “gaf” swing

  2. Jimmy and several of his assistants (Ron Young, Ed Woods, Rick Richardson) taught me everything I know about golf. These guys are true masters of the swing. It’s a simple athletic motion and nobody teaches it better!

  3. Does he still move off the ball?

  4. Very clear tip on the relation of the left elbow vs the smooth-path of the club! Kind of fundamental it is. Yet , hope there is any description on the right elbow ‘trajectory” also from Jim?

  5. that is one bad wig

  6. Jimmy- is dead on- he understands the swing better than anyone/hands down! Why is everyone so afraid of the fact that he is right?

  7. great tip.

  8. Here is my tip dude, get a better toupee or go natural,

  9. i can manipulate the club face with my hand without moving my left elbow. if you don’t believe me simply hold your left elbow with your right hand and simple turn your left hand

  10. excellent tip! Thank you!

  11. this is good advice, swing radius is important for consistent hitting,Gary Edwins right sided swing incorporates radius as one of his main parts !!!

  12. best tip ever for slicers-just one thing jim keep the left elbow up when taking a drink then you wouldnt spill it on your shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. ride,ride,ride,hitchin’ a ride.

  14. this guy has ruined more golf swings than anyone. what an idiot.

  15. Its a nice and simple method for a consistant swing. Its good for the beginner. Things gets worst when we advance.

  16. Not true!

He was one of the biggest teachers in the 80′s.

He had tour players travelling to butneck alabama to work with him.

You have to respect that his teaching never changes.

You have to know that Curtis Strange won 2 back to back US Opens while training with Ballard.

Be careful calling a guy that has worked with around 4 dozen pga tour pros an idiot.

His swing is a middle distance control pattern.

  17. nicwe

  18. lol

  19. You are 100 percent correct ! The reason I think he sometimes gets a bad rap is he is a method teacher. He believes in one method of swinging a golf club. We know that Sam Snead and Lee Trevino swung the club diffrently. He does not accept any other method than connection.

  20. @honudakine
isnt that the truth. as soon as you think you understand or get the lagistics of it, you realize there is a whole other chapter of things with GOLF.

dam i really do love golf. just cant get enough of it

  21. jimmy ballard is my coach ive been working with him for close to a year now, im now going to kansas state full ride, he is the best coach around and he knows more about the golf swing than any other man in the game

  22. This is exactly what i do, very good tip and video.
This stops the hands getting behind the body and prevents the hands moving away from the body and getting to flat. Helps get the correct swing plane. Nice tip!

See Sevam1 for more details on ben Hogans swing.

  23. Maybe you should read my book Golf Lessons Not For Monkeys to understand better every aspect of the swing as to the reason(s) or at least the logic behind them.

  24. great video!

  25. nice tip
