I just got a new affinity golf set the (they are sick)
and i love all of the club cept 3 clubs… the woods, i cant hit with them at all. every time i hit with them it gets sliced(and when i say everytime i mean it.
i dont know whats wrong, is it my swing or what all my other clubs i dont i hit farther with my hybrid teeing off then my driver cuz it slices so bad please help!!!

Have you heard of the single plane golf swing?
It’s been more than two years since Jim Hardy’s book, The Plane Truth for Golfers was released and an excerpt was published in Golf Digest. Since then, every serious golfer on the planet has been discussing whether they are a single or double plane golfer. In case you have missed the debate over the past two golfing seasons, here’s a quick synopsis.
"Secrets of how to golf swing"
There are two possible planes when it comes to a golf swing, one created by the shoulders and one created by the arms. In a single plane swing, golfers maintain a single plane with their shoulders and their arms. In a double plane swing, golfers unlock their elbows and allow the club to reach higher, either towards the sky or around their necks.

Hardy is clear that one swing is not ‘right’ and the other ‘wrong.’ Rather, he hypothesizes that the realization that there are two different fundamental ways to swing a golf club should revolutionize the teaching of golf. After all, millions of dollars are spent every year by people trying to improve their golf swing. Hardy’s single plane swing theory may explain why your results aren’t getting any better. Maybe your instructor is teaching a double plane swing while you are really a single plane golfer.
Furthermore, it has been suggested that the single plane swing is really more conducive for the casual, amateur golfer. The reason is that there is essentially less to ‘fix’ during the swing. In a double plane swing, the golfer will need to realign his elbows, and possibly his wrists, before the head of the club meets the golf ball. This creates more opportunities for the swing to become flawed. There is a higher chance of slicing or hooking the ball, grounding it, or popping it up in the air. A single plane swing, on the other hand, has fewer variables and therefore should be a more accurate swing in the long run.
The accuracy can come at a price. The single plane swing will not produce quite the same amount of power that a double plane swing will, because there is less chance for the golfer to ‘wind up,’ so to speak. However, the trade off can be well worth it. Next time you hit the driving range or talk to your swing instructor, explore the single plane swing a little bit. You might find that it’s just what you needed.

One Plane Golf Swing Tips
Is a single-axis golf swing the best way to hit a ball? Fueled by the success of the Moe Norman, who popularized the single-axis approach and was widely known for power, consistency, and correctness at impact, the debate rages on. He introduced a concept called ‘Natural Golf’ many years ago. It’s not likely to stop anytime soon.
Norman is among the best ballstrikers ever. Even the great Ben Hogan admired his swing. Hogan was once quoted as saying, ‘Moe is the only guy that I would walk across the street to watch hit balls.’ Hogan was not alone. So what’s behind the debate? Let’s take a closer look at the single-axis swing.
While the single-axis swing isn’t something I talk about in my golf lessons and golf tips, it still intrigues. Taking away and returning a club on a single planenot the two planes of the modern approach, simplifies the golf swing. At the very least, as I explain in golf instruction sessions when asked about it, it improves the most important part of the swingimpact.
Key Difference Between Swings
The key difference between the conventional golf swing and the single-axis swing is the relationship between address and impact. With the conventional swing, the player sets up with his arms and hands directly below the shoulders, forming two separate lines that create an angle between the arms and clubshaft.
With the single-axis swing, the address position aligns the club on the same plane as the impact plane. In other words, the single-axis swing starts the club on the same impact plane and stays there throughout. Thus, the golf swing is simplified. Solid ballstriking, which I emphasize in my golf lessons and golf tips, is facilitated.
Address:
With the conventional swing, the player takes a narrow stance with the lead arm on a different line than the clubshaft. The trail hand is on top of the club and the hands are behind the clubhead. With the single-axis swing, the hands are positioned in front of the clubhead with every club. This position forms a straight linethe same line that occurs at impact when the lead arm and clubshaft align. Moe Norman called it ‘the rod.’
Backswing
Since the conventional swing starts on a different plane at address, the player must hinge his or her wrists to get the club back on plane. The address position also creates a steeper shoulder plane. Also, the spine tilts forward a little, away from the original spine angle going into the downswing. Since the single-axis swing starts on the same plane, the player keeps the club on plane by maintaining the relationship between the lead arm and the lead shoulder established at address. The spine tilt remains the same as at address and the shoulder remains on plane.
Top of the Swing
The traditional swing forces a steeper, more vertical arm movement to the top of the backswing. The spine moves toward the target, in a reversed C position, and the right elbow (for right-handers) has been lifted and will need to drop down to get the club back on plane in the downswing. With the single-axis swing, there’s no need to drop the arms into the slot. They’re already there. The wrists are cocked and ready to deliver as much power as possible into the back of the ball.
Downswing
With the conventional swing the lower body rotates with the lead leg straightening and the back foot lifting to create room for the lifting of the clubhead into impact. The trail elbow is slightly behind the trail hip, which can ‘trap’ the arm behind the body. With the single-axis swing, the head remains behind the ball, the trail foot is on the ground, and the player’s spine tilt maintained. The lead leg remains flexed and stable. Nor is there any need to move the body to make room for a steeper shaft.
Impact
The impact positions of both the conventional and single-axis swing are similar at impact, as they should be. The key difference is, as we have pointed out, how they arrived therethrough multiple planes or on a single plane. What’s more, the single-axis swing produces minimal movement throughout the swing, compared to the traditional swing.
Release
The conventional swing requires a full release of the entire body, with excessive hip rotation and the need to lift the trail foot off the ground. Also, the forearms must cross to square the clubface. That’s unlike the single-axis swing, where the arms power past a flexed, yet posted lead leg and moves straight toward the target, like a pendulum.
That’s the single-axis swing in a nutshell. Many of the fundamentals of the single-axis swing can be seen in today’s Tour players, like Craig Perry, Tom Lehman, and Mike Weir, while Mark O’Meara is almost a carbon copy of Moe Norman in the release position.
So the debate rages on. The conventional swing has many proponents, but the single-axis swing also has its share of advocates. If you struggle with consistency, you may find it worth while to investigate, what is at the least, a simpler way of achieving a solid impact position. It certainly can’t hurt.

Every golfer ever born has experienced golf swing problems. From Tiger Woods and Ernie Els to the average 24 handicapper scrambling around the local golf course – they have all tinkered (sometimes wrestled) with their golf swings to a greater or lesser extent.
When the average golfer decides that his or her golf swing is in need of adjustment – or a major overhaul – they are usually in the beginning phase of committing a major blunder (in my humble opinion anyway). They set off to emulate the swing of any number of well known PGA players in the hope that if they can copy that particular swing then they will start playing golf like said pro.
Wrong! Its a humbling experience but the truth is that those elite players are where they are for a whole host of reasons – natural talent, mental strength and training regimes to name but a few – and their golf swing is but one part of the whole package.
So lets get real – a Tiger Woods like swing is not going to turn you into Tiger Woods. In fact, trying to emulate his swing is likely to lead to more problems with your golf swing, and hence game, than if you just carried on as before.
What the average golfer actually needs is a golf swing guide aimed at improving the average golfers golf swing. Nobody battling to break 80 or 90 or even 100 for 18 holes of golf should be too worried about what Tiger or Ernie are doing – they would be better served by coming down to earth and concentrating on working with a golf swing guide that is aimed at improving the scores of the average weekend golfer.
So lets get real and recognise that most of us will never seriously challenge even the club pro, but with the right golf swing guide and some patience and application, we can all cut a good few shots off our best scores – and do it consistently. Now that is golfing heaven!

Baseball grip setup . In this grip setup finger are not overlapped or overlocked they just meet together . Sometimes I use this grip , when I am trying to hit long range shots .
There is never ending discussion about which grip type is the best . I suggest you to practice with them all. Choose grip setup which is most comfortable to you and stick to you . Only by practicing you can improve your golfing skills and make perfect golf swing .

The Sequence Of The Golf Swing
If you have ever played golf you will know that one of the hardest areas of the game to master is the swing, The whole sequence of the golf swing is of vital importance because if you can deliver a consistent swing with every shot then you are well on your way to becoming a decent golfer. So what are the basic components of a solid golf swing sequence?
Well the first part is the set-up. Before you start your swing you need to set yourself up correctly. This means placing your feet about shoulder width apart and parallel to your target at a 90 degree angle. Also your left foot should be pointing at the golf ball, although this last point is often determined by personal preference. Then you need to place the golf club directly behind the ball and point the middle of the head of the club directly at your target.

You are now ready for the next component of the golf swing sequence, the backswing. This should be as smooth as possible. Your arms should be in full extension to start with and then you should rotate your body slightly and bring the golf club smoothly above shoulder height until the club is in full extension.
Then you are ready for the next part of the swing which is the downswing. This needs to be just as smooth as the backswing to ensure that you hit the ball as straight as possible and close to your intended target. This is quite hard to do because it involves shifting your body weight from back to front and while you are doing this there is a lot of movement in your legs and hips. This requires careful control but it becomes a lot easier with practice.
Then the final stage is the actual striking of the ball and the all-important follow-through. You should obviously try and hit the ball in the centre and as you do so you should be transferring your weight to your front foot heel and the inside of your back foot. The follow-through should then be completed as fully and as naturally as possible so the club head finishes over your shoulder in extension.
Obviously a good golf swing requires hours of practice and usually a lot of technical corrections along the way, but hopefully I’ve given you a basic outline of the overall sequence of a golf swing.

Improving Your Golf Swing: Some Simple Golf Tips
When developing a technique to use in regards to improving your golf swing, you must first break the golf swing down into segments and the segments should be as follows, feet placement, hip swing, shoulder placement, grip and head position.
With these five important components in relation to the golf swing, you can help your golf game by carefully taking a look at each one. From this position, you’re much less likely to cut across the ball through impact. With minimal practice, those killer pulls and pull-slices will turn into powerful draws. The golf swing is a sequence of movements, and if you start in the right position and engage the right movements, the rest will follow. If you make a poor start to your swing, then those effects can be negative, affecting consistency and distance.
Fundamentally improving your golf swing requires the golfer to maintain a fixed spine angle, rotate around a fixed spine angle, and maintain specific postural positions in every phase of the swing. In order to accomplish this the muscles of your body must have certain levels of strength. In relation to the golf swing it’s your ability to sustain the proper spine position and center of gravity during movement.
To start improving your golf swing, please think of your body as divided at the waist into two parts, each of which is going to feel as if it’s being used wholly differently. The rotation of the lower followed by upper body turns the hips and shoulders to face the target. At impact the body weight will move onto the left foot (approximately 80%) and the right heel is ‘pulled’ from the floor by the rotation of the hips.
Try this exercise, take an ordinary coat hanger and grip the longest part just as you would a golf club with the hook between your wrists and directed away from your body. The widest points making a line between your torso and the "ball. With this setup, work through your golf swing and watch the rotation of the triangle through the air. In order to do this, your wrists have to turn as you shift arm position. Loosening your grip allows your wrists to rotate in a natural motion.
Golf weight and training exercises are one of the best and the quickest ways to improving your golf swing speed and power. The heavier the shaft, the lower and straighter your shots will be, and the lighter the shaft the higher and more variable your shots will be. Many players try to make their clubs heavier by adding lead tape to the head, which changes the overall weight, the swing weight, and the shaft flex.
Oftentimes, in golf terms the opening and closing, of the clubface is termed releasing of the club. This is where the hands become an integral part of the golf swing. The simplest way to improving your golf swing and to shape your shots is to make sure your clubface faces the target but your body lines are right or left depending on the ball flight desired. Do not change your grip or swing.
Moreover, the angle of the club head must be checked on two fronts: First, the face of the club head, or the horizontal angle, must be pointing in the direction you want the ball to fly. Second, the vertical angle, which is largely effected by how you hold the club and address the ball, must be set up so that you do not lose distance in your shot.
As you slowly lift your club, do not cock your wrist too soon. Try to shorten your swing and make sure you stay down and get the ball through on your down swing. Perfect golf swing drills centered around the takeaway continues with your left wrist cupped, right arm above your left and right knee flexed.
Depending on your dominant hand the club should rest against the palm of your opposite hand and be held somewhat loosely at the fingertips with the heel of your hand providing pressure. The dominant hand should then be placed in the same position creating a V with the thumb and index fingers.
While you must work on technique and position, when it comes to actually playing the game, you need to rely on the platform and motion you have started. The next time you practice, try hitting some balls starting with the clubhead a foot or so in front (toward the target) of the ball. The address stage is about the body’s position and the proper grip. The backswing is the start of the body movement and positions the body before beginning the downswing.
