@johngolfi, Seriously, Hardy’s method is crazy. You all reference Mr. Hogans swing, but when you talk about the one plane swing, you teach and talk about stuff different from what Mr. Hogan did in his own swing and against the very fundamentals that he described. The action of the golf swing happens as Mr. Hogan said, except the plane of the backswing goes more thru his sternum than his shoulders. He didn’t need a high speed camera he dug it out of the dirt. Shoulders don’t start the downswing.!
A very well presented orientation. A person can easily put the pieces of this visualization into practice. The feeling of rotation around the spine, coupled with the level turning of the hips is like many other club/racket sports. Stay behind the ball with the 40 degree m/l of tilt, and the turning will bring the club into the back of the ball.
As a professional golfer I can safely say that this video is the quickest way to confuse normal golfers I have ever seen.
dalton mcready proved that you dont need a backswing to hit a ball any further. Most people over extend, causing the left elbow to fold thus AFFECTING the downswing. Bio mechanically if everyone learnt to hit through a ball on the downswing, then getting to the top is irrelevant. I hit 300 yds when fully powering it, but 275 if i just start at the top. with 60% better accuracy.. Maybe thats why i score 84′s ..
@patkrebsgolf plus Hogan didn’t have so many highspeed cameras if anyone at all, so if he had that and watched his swing in detail he would have tried to get the club more on plane. But anyway he was the best ball stricker ever and they didn’t have a systeme caled one or two plane swing, but if you look att modern day golfers
you will see that there are home marks of the one plane swing there. The “fault” golfers do is that they have a mix of the swings
@patkrebsgolf Hogan was pretty short and the one plane swing works like if you are tall you need to bend over the ball more and the shorter you are the less you have to bend over the ball. Hogan was short and therefore he could use a more upright posture. And when Hogan started the down swing he did use his hips and legs alot and that made him come down in a better position whit the arms and shoulders, and finaly Hogan took the club above the plane line and than laid it back on the plane.
Also i jumped ahead to 2:46 and for a second I thought they digitally took your arms out hha
@golfzonetv hah reading your comment makes me laugh
There are so many bullet holes in this theory its laughable. Hogan had a very upright posture for this method and he absolutely used his hips and legs athletically better than anybody, even today players. His arm swing with his irons were below his shoulder line and his driver was slightly above his shoulder. Hogan said there was two planes and he was right. You all are chasing your tails.
@ilikeitwetto best ball striker ever though. and one plane has taken on a new meaning since norman
This “one plane -around- swing” dont work for me. The time the face is squared to the target line is just too little and gets me very inconsistence. I prefer a more Down the line move with more hips involved. For me a more foregiving swing.
i doubt Hogan would would call himself one plane. Look up Mo Norman for 1 plane. its truely awful!!
he got wrong grip…
Dont watch this it will just confuse you. Its over complicated
Buy into it or not, this is a wonderful, concise demonstration of some of the basic fundamentals of the One Plane Swing. Because we stand to the side of the ball, it is natural that there would be more than 1 proper way to swing the club to hit straight shots. Imagine how boring it would be if all the best players in the world swung the club in exactly the same manner. I wouldn’t even watch! Good job on this video and keep up what you’re doing!
Golf is a physically demanding sport, and a great golfer needs to stay flexible and be in great shape. The pro’s spend thousands of dollars on golf fitness trainers and coaches to help keep them on top of their game, but for me that was not a possibility. After years of complaining about my game plateauing and about being sore from playing so much I knew I had to do something about it, but after a few stretches I was lost.
A colleague of mine showed me this great tool!
SELFTRAINERMAT. com
Great video thanks
his stance is too wide for an iron, perfect for a driver
Nice video. Jim Hardy’s one-plane-swing well explained.
And yes, Ben Hogan is still the greatest golfer of all time. It’s not really a matter of how many majors a guy can grab…
.
BEST TEACHES DAN SHAUGER I HAD LESSON WITH DAN HIT GOLF BALL STRAIGHT DOWN LINE NOW AND MY PUTTING GREAT TO DAN NO ALOT ABOUT GOLF SWING GREAT TEACHES THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP
@bucko06 woods is already amongst the greatest ever, but he’s got to pick it up, since he hasn’t won a title for 19 months.. check that!
What’s a swing pline?
@emncaity
An ON-plane swing matters, and integrating the body with the arm swing matters. Not swinging overly upright and steep matters. There are no examples of great players who have a truly 1P swing (and yes, I’m including Hogan, when he made a full swing). Because of physique, some people will get closer to it than others; the closer you get to it, the less you have to worry about powerful body rotation breaking down the arm swing; but virtually nobody actually does it.
Oy. Hardly anybody who thinks he has a 1P swing (or who points to an example from the tour as 1P) actually is 1P. So much hooey.
Here’s a question for you: If the shoulders point 3-4 ft. outside the ball, but the arm plane is supposed to be dead level with the shoulders at the top, how are you going to hit the ball without redirecting your force downward and out of plane?
Perfect example of moneymaking abstract theory that doesn’t actually happen in the real world of competitive golf.
One plane swing is for short losers who can’t get women.
Winners stand proud and tall and are coordinated & intelligent enough to use the 2 plane swing.
We can use the 2 plane swing because are hips are so toned and relaxed from all the women we are screwing not to mention the quick side phuks we get from the girlfriends of short guys behind their backs.
10% weight on the heel? no way
I think it’s “out of bounds” and not “out of bounce.”
I think this a good video though. Take a look at my video “No more Fundamentals For The Golf Swing.”
