Check out the Medicus hinged golf club. It will do wonders for your swing.

The Momentus. I recommend the one that you do not hit balls with. It is weighted and when used properly, makes you swing on the proper plane. Repitition with this trainer gets you into the habit of swinging on the correct swing plane, thus producing greater results. I usually swing mine about 10 times or so before going to the first tee and that gives me a feel for the swing plane. Since I have been using it, I have gone from a 12 handicap to a 4.
Go with the medicus breakable. It helps form and tempo. It is the only tempo trainer out there.
The medicus dual hinged trainer is really good. If you do it right you can actually hit balls with it, but it is tough to get the thing not to break
I’ve tried most of them and don’t think much of any of them — medicus, momentus, laser gadgets, the clicking arm harness, etc. If you have been buying these contraptions, reading golf magazines, watching golf channel, etc. there is so much conflicting information out there. I have found that The Plane Truth for Golfers by Jim Hardy is one of the best DVDs. It will help you parse through the numerous golf tips that are good and harmful to one’s swing — depending on whether you have a one plane or a two plane swing. Good luck.
If you have the space and dole, go with Explanar Swing trainer.
Else try out the Inside approach trainer.
I think the best aid at the moment is the”Inside Approach”,which helps you to feel the correct inside path to the ball, very simple and good.
teaching pro at your local club would be my choice
I agree with toughasmince, how ever as mentioned the momentus if you use it properly will help you. I use one everyday.
A six or seven foot long piece of half inch pvc pipe.
Address the ball with it. The excess lenghth will be under your left arm (if you’re a righty).
Take a backswing. The OTHER end SHOULD point directly to the ball. If the pipe is the right length the back end will be an inch or so above the ball.
This will tell you if you are ‘on plane’ throughout your swing.
Practice taking it back, noting that the back end points to the ball.
Holding 2 or 3 clubs at a time and swinging can duplicate a heavy club.
The best training aid, BY FAR, is a mat and net.
There is no substitute for hitting real balls with your clubs.
You’re looking for feel, square contact, and a good rhythmic swing.
Do it a million times and you will be a much better golfer.
Id Say The MediCus.
